From the ashes of Multiply's "Joanne, by any other name" (2003) arise this space. Now, it houses my collection of significant pictures and angsty thoughts. It mirrors the dark and the light, the bumps and flights in my inner jouney!
Seriously thinking of leaving something I've been doing the last 16 years. I'm just not as good at it as I try to be. I wonder if I'll be any better at something else though.
Jang - believe in yourself - you are good at what you do, otherwise you would have been long gone from that position. We always tend to have higher standards for ourselves - at this stage in our lives, I think it is time for us to relax the rules on ourselves. I am like you too - I beat myself up for every little "mistake" or "omission" although no one else notices. I, however, plan to stick it out for just 6 more years (in order to qualify for Social Security benefits) then I will retire. Only then will I explore other opportunities with no other reason than I just want to try it out - no need to be better at something else!
Thanks for your thoughts, Bunny! I guess I'm just suffering from burn-out fever. Maybe after I've enjoyed my semester off, I can make a more rational decision on what I really want to do the rest of my dwindling professional years. But one thing is clear - I am so looking forward to retirement! : )
